5 steps for a successful GO-LIVE in Product Development:

  • Alex Faur
  • 2 minute read

The month before a software project goes live is an important period, often determining the long-term success and viability of the application. It’s a time when every detail counts, and the right actions can make all the difference.

We asked our colleagues to share their insights and experiences on what they consider the most crucial steps to take before a software goes live. Their responses, rich with expertise and practical knowledge, have been integrated into five key strategies. These strategies are best practices to ensure a smooth transition to a live environment and to set the stage for ongoing success:

1.Comprehensive functionality review:

Start with a meticulous review of all functionalities. Ensure every feature aligns perfectly with client requirements and operates flawlessly, providing a robust foundation for success.

2. Optimised production environment setup: the key to performance

Set the stage for efficiency and reliability. Implement and fine-tune your production environment, ensuring a seamless transition that guarantees peak performance and user satisfaction.

3. Advanced Security analysis:

Elevate your project’s integrity with a thorough security analysis. Protect your valuable assets against cyber threats through rigorous audits and the implementation of cutting-edge security policies, providing peace of mind for you and your clients.

4. Migrate the essentials:

For an application that heavily relies on integrations with third-party platforms, tools, applications, or APIs, it is important to transition from their test environments to their live production versions. And then, test, test, test.

5.Post-release workload and resource allocation:

For a post-launch success, strategically plan your post-release workload and resource allocation. This ensures continuous improvement, support, and maintenance, securing your project’s long-term success and client satisfaction.

These steps are designed for a successfully launch according to client satisfaction. But remember, every project is different and has its own specifics. So, what additional step would you add to these five?

Have a smooth #GoLive!
